The City of Toronto’s Integrated Pumping Station project includes a 2.4 meter diameter microtunnel crossing of Lake Shore Boulevard. This paper discusses how the design team mitigated traffic impacts, impacts to recreational trail users and dealt with challenging site constraints including a limited site area and multiple utility crossings.
